Rainbow Trout Release Party

Saturday, Feb. 1, 10 a.m.-2 p.m.

Grenwelge Park, 103 E. Haynie St., Llano

Drop a line. The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department will release 2,000 rainbow trout into the Llano River at Grenwelge Park. The event also includes a Q&A session with the TPWD Angler Education Program, a fly-casting demonstration, and free hot dogs.

Deck out in your best denim and diamonds for an evening at The Rose with a live and silent auction, dinner, drinks, and dancing. The event benefits the Boys & Girls Club of Llano.

South Erock guided hike

Thursdays, Feb. 13 and 27, at 10 a.m.

Enchanted Rock State Natural Area, 16710 Ranch Road 965, Fredericksburg

Join a park ranger on a 2-mile guided hike of Enchanted Rock’s new addition, South Erock. Hikers will enjoy sights of vernal pools, native plants and animals, and a rolling oak savannah prairie. Be prepared for off-trail hiking. Advance registration is required. The hike is free with park admission.
