Llano Texas Music Festival headlines live lineup in September

There’s only one thing better than music, and that’s LIVE music. In the beating heart of the Texas Hill Country, Llano County has a vibrant and growing live music scene. The Llano Texas Music Festival, which began just last year, is set for another jam-packed lineup Sept. 27-28.

The 2024 Llano Texas Music Festival takes place on the banks of the Llano River at Robinson Park, 123 Robinson Park Drive in Llano. Country artists Jason Boland & The Stragglers and Bri Bagwell headline this year’s festival.

Boland, who received the Trailblazer Award from the Texas Country Music Awards in 2023, has been on the American Red Dirt/Texas Country music scene for the past 25 years. Known for high-energy shows, Boland’s music is a mix of “outlaw” and Opry.

Bagwell is a Texas singer-songwriter who credits Johnny Cash, Dwight Yoakam, Miranda Lambert, and George Strait with inspiring her style. She has earned nine Female Vocalist of the Year awards and was named Texas Female Artist of the Decade.

The Friday lineup includes headliner Bagwell as well as performances by Jamie Richards, Jon Stork, and Forlini & Cross. Saturday’s show features Jason Boland & The Stragglers with Thomas Michael Riley, Dallas Moore, and Davin James.

General admission tickets are available online for $35 a day or $60 for both days. Festival gates open at 2 p.m. with music firing up at 4 p.m. both days. Festival-goers are encouraged to bring their own chairs; coolers are welcome for a fee. In addition to music, the festival includes a golf tournament with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Llano River Golf Course next to Robinson Park.

Live music grooves year-round in Llano County and can be heard weekly at many eateries and watering holes. Here are some spots offering regular entertainment:
