The Llano Crawfish Open celebrates mudbugs, live music, and golf. The 2025 festival, which benefits local charities, takes place rain or shine April 25-26 in Robinson City Park on the Llano River.
This much-loved event began in 1989 as a golf tournament and barbecue/crawfish boil hosted by a group of hunters from Beaumont and a group of Llano residents. The festivities went over well, friendships were formed, and they decided to hold it again the following year. Thirty-six years later, the Llano Crawfish Open is going strong and growing. While it stays true to its crawfish and golfing roots, live music was added along the way and now many other activities fill the two days of the festival.
The Llano Crawfish Open is well known for its profuse offerings of Cajun-style boiled crawfish, barbecue, and jambalaya. Organizers order more than 15,000 pounds of Louisiana crawfish, which is complemented by seasoned boiled corn and potatoes.
Headlining the 2025 Llano Crawfish Open are country artists Joe Nichols on Friday night and William Clark Green on Saturday night. The Crawfish Open golf tournament is a 4-man scramble that takes place over the two days. This year’s event also includes more live music, arts and crafts vendors, children’s activities, a cornhole tournament, barrel racing, team roping, goat roping, auctions, and a motorcycle fun run.
Robinson City Park is located at 123 Robinson Park Drive in Llano, Texas. Tickets to the Llano Crawfish Open may be purchased at the gate. Rain doesn’t dampen the fun; the festival takes place rain or shine. Find more event and registration information on the open’s website or call 325-247-2270.
