Saturday Morning: A Coffee Stop and Some Shopping

The downtown area can also be a great place to do a little shopping and browsing, checking out local boutiques and antique shops. A few favorites include Serendipity Antiques for vintage charm, Luna Blue by Texana Outfitters for luxe clothing and gifts, and the Llano Fine Arts Guild and Gallery for unique pieces by Texan artisans.
You may also be able to visit the Llano Farmers and Crafters Market if you’re in town on the first or third Saturday of the month, which will give you access to some delicious goodies to enjoy over the weekend, as well as treats like local honey and preserves to take home as a souvenir of your visit.
Your second option that we consider must-try for a girls’ weekend in Llano County: Board and Body offers on-the-water paddleboard fitness classes on Lake LBJ exclusively on Saturday mornings. It’s a perfectly unique opportunity to build your core strength, test your balance, and make some memories with friends. If you have big enough group, you can actually request a private event and have the Board and Body team come to you at your lakeside rental.
Then, enjoy a nice lunch and spend some time in the great outdoors. You could wander along the river depending on the weather, or just enjoy some outdoor exploration. You could plan a nature hike around Lake Buchanan if you want the peaceful, more nature-oriented side of a lake visit. For a shorter outing, stop at Grenwelge Park in downtown Llano. The riverfront park sits alongside granite outcroppings and gives you an easy way to get down to the Llano River without committing to a major hike.
Saturday night is a great opportunity for another good meal around the county. Bay View Restaurant and Bar is a brilliant place for sunset views accompanied by signature cocktails like the Highland Lakes Hurricane (only two allowered per guest per visit!) or, if you’re looking for a frostier option, a frojito, Bay View’s frozen mojito made with aged white rum and lime.
And, to wrap up the evening, put on your dancing shoes (or your favorite pair of boots!) and head out to Pardners Nightclub for live music, dancing and an evening of fun.
Sunday Funday around the County
Your Sunday morning crew might end up splitting into two factions: one that wants to sleep in and one that wants to rise and see the sun come up.
For your early birds, a trip to Enchanted Rock State Natural Area should be in the cards. You can enjoy the early morning aura of this beautiful natural spot that’s been revered for millennia. The pink granite dome rises 425 feet above the elevation of the rest of the park, and the climb up is spirited but not grueling.
It’s the perfect place for an early morning exploration and commune with nature.
For the middle of the day, meet back up with any of your friends who caught a few extra zzzs for a late morning brunch. Lonely Oak Kitchen and Bar has everything you could want, whether you’re bringing a hearty appetite and want an EBT (Everything’s Bigger in Texas) omelet or are just craving some avocado toast.
