Drive past the rabbit-adorned wagon at the ranch gate of Hill Country Hopaway and prepare for a memorable and relaxing retreat at this comfy vacation home in Llano County. The ranch house sits on 4 acres of beautiful Texas Hill Country punctuated by granite outcroppings, a geological trademark of Llano County.

The front porch was made for mornings, where you with your cup of coffee and other early risers can take a seat, watch the sun come up, and maybe spy a white-tailed deer or even a rabbit. Maggie Mae, the resident barn cat, might drop by to visit and coax a treat or a pat on the head.

At day’s end, adjourn to the expansive back porch for more wildlife spotting, wine, and a country sunset.

Indoors, the living room’s sofa, loveseat, and 43-inch TV create a comfortable venue for visiting, watching a movie, or catching your favorite team in action.

The fully equipped kitchen and adjacent dining area are perfect for creating a meal to share with the rest of your party. For alfresco dining ambience, a table on the back patio seats four. Fire up the nearby gas grill and let the sizzle begin.

Hill Country Hopaway accommodates four guests, with a queen-size bed in one bedroom, a double in the other, and a shared bathroom.

When the road beckons, Llano is just a few miles west on Texas 29. Shop for art, walk along the Llano River, visit a museum or historic site, and satisfy your barbecue craving. If you’re motoring on electricity, there’s a Tesla-charging station downtown. More quaint Hill Country towns and Texas State Parks are all within easy driving distance.

Back at your Llano County lodging, take time to explore your surroundings. Hike along the creek, then cap off the day by sitting around the fire pit, roasting marshmallows, making s’mores, or just chilling out under a canopy of flickering stars.

While roaming the 4 acres of Hill Country Hopaway, you’ll probably come across a water tank with a painted inscription, reading: “Y’all come back now, ya hear?” No doubt, you will. It’s where to stay when you Visit Llano County.
